NORMA Journal Spring Quarter 2007 - Week of April 16, 2007

This quarter in NORMA I'm continuing my work on the Fact Editor, which I'm hoping to complete before the end and start on something new. I currently have the following tasks lined up:

  • Populate Fact Editor on ObjectType Selection
  • Implement ComandSet
  • Wire up adding the entered fact to the model
  • Refactor syntax highlighting
  • Populate intellisense list with existing ObjectType's
  • Remove old Fact Editor

This week I've completed the following tasks:

  • Populate intellisense list with existing ObjectType's
  • Wire up adding the entered fact to the model

Ryan has helped with (and may be done with):

  • Populate Fact Editor on ObjectType Selection

We've also decided to change some of the functionality of the Fact Editor. It will only support one line of entry text at a time, and keep the first ObjectType in the editor after adding the new or edited fact to the model (similar to how Visio currently works).  We also want to support forward and reverse reading using the "/".  So that adds these three tasks:

  • Only allow one line of text in the editor
  • Leave first ObjectType in editor after committing to model
  • Support forward & reverse readings using "/"

I have started working on refactoring the syntax highlighting and will continue with it next week.

Support for forward & reverse readings would be amazing.
