New Hosting Provider, School, and C# 3.0

It's been awhile since I've written anything, though I've been extremely busy!  During August I took some time off from WoW to make a little extra cash helping my brother.  There is a big craft show called "Swiss Days" here in Utah, and my brother/sister-in-law and two of my sister's participate.  My oldest sister runs the website Patchwork and Paint, so the family helps her create product for the site and these craft shows.  During August I (and a few other people) helped my brother build over 500 picture frames.  Was quite the little workshop we had going!

I also started school again this semester.  I'm only taking one math class, though after not seriously focusing on Math for nearly 4 years it's quite the adventure trying to remember even simple things. This has taken up most of my time lately.

I've done a few nifty improvements to the Ascendance (http://www.ascendancewow.com) website.  I was able to intigrate the nifty Blizzard tooltips for item drops on a few of the pages, along with some other misc info.

I've been meaning to upload a new list of my UI mods as well - hopefully I will get that done this weekend.  I've been working on a new UI mod that takes an inventory of your character, then you can use a program I wrote to export the data as XML, HTML, or just plain text.  You can get a preview of it here.  That particular page is using an XML datasource produced by the addon.  I've run into one problem though.  For some reason it crashes WoW with a #132 error, at random intervals.  This happens with more than just me as well, so I'm not sure if it's something I've written wrong in the lua, or if it is just theirs and my machine and is one of the quirks that have been associated with the #132 error.  (See the World of Warcraft Tech Forums)  Hopefully I'll get it, or my machine, fixed and will be able to work on it more.

Right now is the PDC05 and I wish I could attend!  Maybe someday.  There are a few interesting video's on Channel 9 about Window's Vista, though check out the inovations of LINQ (Language INtegrated Query) with Anders Hejlsberg, a new feature for C# 3.0!

Here's a quote from the Channel 9 site:

"LINQ stands for Language INtegrated Query and in a nutshell, it makes query and set operations, like SQL statements first class citizens in .NET languages like C# and VB."

Very cool stuff.
